Network Operators

iPLATO has partnership agreements with some of the largest international Network Operators. These relationships are crucial to our company for two reasons:

1. they allow us negotiate advantageous conditions and quickly deploy wireless solutions on behalf of our clients.
2. they allow us to build markets with iPLATO's wireless solutions in cooperation with the network operators.

iPLATO has partnership agreements with the following Network Operators:

O2

O2 is a leading provider of mobile communications services in Europe with a strong position in mobile data and Internet services in the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands and Ireland. O2 was the first company in the world to launch and rollout a commercial GPRS (or 2.5G) network and has secured third generation mobile telephony ("3G") licences in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Germany. iPLATO is a partner of O2, actively participating in its development platform, Source O2. Source O2 aims to maintain O2's leadership in mobile data and to provide end users with the most diverse set of wireless-aware applications, from those with popular appeal to those for niche markets.

Orange

The Orange group is one of the world's largest mobile communications companies, with over 40 million customers in 21 countries across Europe and beyond. As at the end of June 2002, Orange was the largest mobile operator in both the UK with over 12.8 million active customers, and France with over 18.6 million customers. iPLATO has been working with Orange since the end of 2000 in a fruitful partnership, conceiving and developing valuable services for Orange's business customers. iPLATO is also a member of the Orange Developers Forum; Orange's development platform at the forefront of the development and testing of new mobile voice and data applications, utilising mobile technologies and enablers.

Vodafone

Vodafone is the largest mobile telecommunications network company in the world. It has interests in mobile networks in 28 countries across five continents. In June 2002, Vodafone had over 103 million proportionate customers worldwide. iPLATO is a member of the Via Vodafone network. Via Vodafone provides the framework for developers throughout the world to build standard mobile applications/services that run consistently across the Vodafone network.
