Vision

Having developed iPLATO into the sound organisation it is today, with a well balanced team of wireless experts and a number of strong client relationships, we are poised to take the next step in the company's growth.

Amongst other things, the overall economic climate over the past two years has hampered the evolution of valuable business improvements through the deployment of wireless solutions in organisations as many enterprises deemed it too risky to invest in new technology. This stagnation has however lead to the 'chrysalis' of a hidden wealth of opportunities that will surface in the next few years.

The time is fast approaching where enterprises will have to concede that their customers can no longer be neatly defined in specific target groups. Consumers refuse to be boxed into categories and display a very diverse purchasing behaviour depending on the time and location of their interaction or transaction; the 'market of one' has become a reality. In addition, customers are now more aware than ever, of their purchasing power, their demands on innovation and the quality and level of service are consistently rising.

In the enterprise environment there is also significant and fundamental changes afoot: There are a rising number of employees that are no longer tied to a particular location to perform their job. Time spent commuting is forever on the rise and the boundaries between work and play are blurring. People are no longer assumed to be in the office from 9 to 5, and there is a greater than ever need for fast, reliable decision making, which necessitates access to rich data from anyplace at anytime.

As a result of these fundamental changes iPLATO believes that the benefits of wireless technologies are now more compelling than ever and for early adopters and organisations that embrace change, wireless technologies have the potential to provide a competitive advantage for years to come.

In the short term however, the three foremost characteristics of wireless technology; (a) it is instant, (b) it is personal and (c) it is not dependent on a place, lead us to believe that the following hold the most potential of immediately unearthing hidden value:

  1. Productivity Improvement - substantial gains in productivity can be made if an organisation provides its mobile employees with the facilities to continue to perform their job whilst being 'away from the desk'.
  2. Process Restructuring - through its power to break 'location dependency', mobile technology allows organisations to rethink business processes (or parts thereof) that formerly had to be performed at a specific site.
  3. Better Products- using wireless technology, the market reach, speed to market and general accessibility of many existing and new products and services can be vastly improved.

In conjunction with its clients, iPLATO will immerse itself in the business issues at both an industry and organisational level. This is accomplished through research initiatives and consulting activities, which, by combining iPLATO's wireless expertise with the strategic and business acumen from our clients, results in a detailed and innovative picture of the most lucrative opportunities in the industry. Market scans will subsequently provide an overview of the available alternatives to create an attractive solution.

By using our expertise in this industry-focused manner, we are creating a wireless 'Centre of Excellence' that is effectively recognised as a thought leader and renowned for both its innovative knowledge and product development capabilities.
